NICHA’s
Green Concrete Production

NICHA Green Concrete is an advanced low-carbon construction solution that integrates carbonate ions (CO₃²⁻) derived from NICHA CCUS and NICHA DAC systems directly into the concrete production process. By utilizing a clean, stable carbonate solution, NICHA enhances concrete performance while permanently storing CO₂ as solid mineral carbonates, such as calcium carbonate (CaCO₃). This approach not only strengthens the concrete but also reduces cement usage—the most carbon-intensive ingredient—making NICHA Green Concrete a breakthrough in sustainable construction materials. The carbonate solution is fully compatible with standard cementitious systems and requires no change to existing production infrastructure.

How it works!

• Fills micro-pores in the concrete matrix

• Promotes in-situ CaCO crystal formation

• Densifies and strengthens the cement structure

• Permanently stores CO as mineral carbonates

Performance Improvements

• 15–70% increase in concrete strength

• 10–30% reduction in cement consumption

• 50% longer concrete service life

• Permanent carbon storage as CaCO

NICHA Green Concrete Process

1. Carbonate solution replaces part of the mixing water

2. Carbonate crystals form within the concrete

3. Curing process locks carbon into the structure

4. Strength and durability testing

Benefits

• Lower carbon footprint in cement production

• Higher concrete strength and durability

• Reduced cement usage and overall cost

• Minimized cracking and shrinkage

• Suitable for structural and precast applications

Applications

• General concrete

• High-performance concrete (HPC)

• Precast elements

• Marine/coastal structures

• Repair mortar and grouts
