NICHA
CCUS?

NICHA CCUS is an advanced, low-cost carbon capture system engineered to serve industrial facilities of all sizes, from manufacturing plants to energy-intensive operations. Unlike traditional carbon capture technologies that rely on expensive compressors, hazardous amine solvents, or geological sequestration, NICHA CCUS employs a clean, closed-loop alkaline absorption process to capture CO₂ directly from flue gas or ambient air. The captured CO₂ is then immediately converted into stable carbonate minerals that can be stored safely or repurposed across multiple environmental and industrial applications. This approach eliminates the high operational risks and costs associated with CO₂ compression, transport, and underground injection, while delivering both environmental and economic value to end users.

1. SIVS – Self-Induced Venturi Scrubber

At the heart of the NICHA CCUS system is the Self-Induced Venturi Scrubber (SIVS)—a proprietary design that creates suction-driven airflow without the need for mechanical blowers. This greatly reduces both energy consumption and maintenance requirements. As flue gas passes through the Venturi throat, it mixes intensively with an alkaline solution, enabling rapid CO₂ absorption at the gas–liquid interface.

Why SIVS is superior:

  • Consumes far less energy compared to blower-based systems

  • Provides high-efficiency gas–liquid mixing for optimal capture rate

  • Simplifies installation and reduces system downtime

  • Handles a wide range of CO₂ concentrations, from dilute to extremely high (1–100%)

This design ensures robust, continuous operation even in harsh industrial environments, making NICHA CCUS highly adaptable across sectors.

2. Pressurized Absorption – High-Efficiency CO₂ Capture

After the initial CO₂ absorption stage, the partially carbonated solution flows into a sealed pressurized absorption reactor, where capture efficiency increases dramatically. Under controlled pressure, CO₂ solubility rises, enabling rapid conversion of dissolved CO₂ into carbonate ions.

Key advantages of pressurized absorption:

  • Fully closed-loop system with no gas leakage

  • Does not require chemical solvents or hazardous amines

  • High capture efficiency within compact installation spaces

  • Supports uninterrupted 24/7 industrial operation

  • Produces no toxic by-products or wastewater

This pressurized approach allows NICHA CCUS to maintain consistent carbonate quality while operating safely and sustainably within tight industrial footprints.

3. Carbonate Conversion – Turning CO₂ Into Valuable Materials

Once CO₂ is captured and dissolved, NICHA CCUS converts it into stable mineral carbonates through natural chemical reactions. These carbonates are solid, non-toxic, and easy to store or transport. Instead of treating CO₂ as waste, NICHA transforms it into an asset that can be used across environmental restoration and green material manufacturing.

Applications of NICHA carbonates:

  • Ocean Alkalinity Enhancement (OAE): restores ocean pH and expands marine carbon sinks

  • Soil Carbon Sequestration (SCS): improves soil fertility and long-term carbon storage

  • Wastewater Treatment: reduces heavy metals, methane emissions (CH₄), and nitrous oxide (N₂O)

  • Green Cement & Concrete: increases concrete strength while permanently storing CO₂ as CaCO₃

This integrated approach creates a circular carbon ecosystem that converts emissions into usable, environmentally beneficial products.

4. Advantages for Industrial Users

NICHA CCUS is engineered for cost efficiency, safety, and practicality—making carbon capture accessible for industries that previously could not afford or implement conventional CCS solutions.

Industrial benefits include:

  • Much lower cost compared to traditional carbon capture and storage

  • Low energy consumption with automated operation

  • No need for CO₂ compression, pipelines, or underground storage

  • Zero hazardous chemicals or amine solvents

  • Ideal for inland, remote, or non-coastal industries

  • Enables carbon credit generation and measurable CDR (Carbon Dioxide Removal)

By removing technical and financial barriers, NICHA CCUS enables widespread adoption of industrial decarbonization without disrupting existing operations.
